1. When dialysis is require?
When functioning of both kidneys get reduced to 10-15% then dialysis can be required.
2. Can kidney get cure by dialysis ?
No. Kidneys can not get cure by dialysis. As kidneys are not functioning ; all toxins remained in body get removed by dialysis. Dialysis neither harm nor cure kidneys. It just reduces symptoms & improves health.
3. Once dialysis is done /performed, is it require to do regularly ?

5. What is hemodialysis ?
In this type of dialysis, blood is circulated & purified in an artificial kidney through needle. This procedure is done for 4 hours. For this, patient need to go to hospital which provide dialysis machine, artificial kidney-dialyser & can return home after dialysis. This kind of dialysis is called as hemo or machine dialysis.
6. What is peritoneal dialysis ?
Peritoneal dialysis is done via catheter placed in peritoneal cavity of abdomen. In this type a specific type of solution is inserted through peritoneal catheter in peritoneal cavity placed as it is for few hours- and then removed out. This procedure is done 3-4 times daily. This type of dialysis can be done at home once training is given. This type of dialysis is called as peritoneal dialysis.
7. Is dialysis painful ?
Usually no. For hemodialysis while pricking needle some time can feel pain & rest of other procedure is painless.
8. What are disadvantages of dialysis ?
a) Hemodialysis: There can be some problems like cramps, vomiting, hypotension etc.
b) Peritoneal dialysis : There can be chances of abdominal infections but this type of infections are very rare once in a year. They can be cure after treatment & along with this treatment dialysis can be continued.
9. Can dialysis pateints do travelling ? Travelling is allowed to dialysis patients ?
Yes. They can travel where dialysis facility will be available. Peritoneal cavity patients can travel keeping the required material available with them.
10. Can dialysis patients live a normal life ?
They can prefer their daily routine activities by following basic regiments of dialysis. The main aim behind dialysis is to achieve patient’s daily routine activities.
11. Can dialysis patients perform their dialy activities at work place ?
